So it’s been over a week since the national food blogger conference in Sydney. Before it becomes superfluous, I thought I’d better do a short blog about it.
I spent most of the event behind a video camera so couldn’t take many photos…
(posing: My Aching Head)
…but I managed to try some foods..
Lindt Delice Macaron Tower and Lindor balls

Delicious pastries and afternoon tea from Brasserie Bread
Coffee provided by Toby’s Estate- and damn! That was good coffee!

A gorgeously presented lamb lunch provided by MLA
A very interesting part of the day was a demonstration of basic lamb butchery…

…it led to some mouth-watering dishes as deep-fried lamb bacon…

…but at times, was a little indelicate…ouch!

The highlight was definitely dinner at Kingsley’s Steak & Crabhouse- a place to which I will definitely return- and cross my fingers that the food will be just as amazing as it was on the night!

Slow-roasted beef tenderloin and wagyu flat iron steak

Kipfler potato, chorizo, spinach & Heirloom tomato, roast olives, aged balsamic sides

Gorgonzola dolce with Mt Buffalo hazelnuts & iron bark honey
The Gorgonzola dolce is surprisingly my favourite dish of the meal! When I heard a cheese plate was being served for dessert, I wasn’t very excited but this has got to be one of the top 3 gorgonzola’s I’ve ever had. The honey and the cheese worked beautifully with the thin slices of raisin toast. How good was it? When noodlies left early, I claimed his share for my own.
It was an amazing day and even though I looked like a walking zombie from extreme sleep deprivation (re:exams), I had buckets of fun.
I’ve uploaded the footage and hopefully some vids will start appearing after my final assessment is done and handed-in next week!

looks like fun, but the hacksaw through the crotch looks extremely painful
There was a bit of an audible gasp heard across the room.
